Groningen/Fredericia (energate) - The transmission system operators Gasunie Deutschland and Energinet have called on market participants to support their planned German-Danish hydrogen grid. As part of the 'HyPerLink" project', the grid operators from Denmark and Germany are planning to build a cross-border infrastructure connecting H2 production sites with large industrial consumption centres. They have applied to the EU Commission with their sub-projects (HYD-N-1001 and HYD-N-1236) as Projects of Common Interest (PCI). This will give them priority access to EU funding and allow them to benefit from simplified approvals. A
consultation of the EU Commission on this year's candidates is still running until 16 March for the area of
hydrogen infrastructure and electrolysers there are more than 180 applications. Based on the consultation results, regional groups will then select the PCI projects. /tc
