Bergkamen coal-fired power station shut down after smouldering fire

Essen/Bergkamen (energate) - The coal-fired power plant in Bergkamen, North Rhine-Westphalia, has been temporarily shut down after a smouldering fire. The fire broke out around noon on 4 March in a conveyor system in the coal bunker leading to the grinding plant in the boiler house, according to Steag, the power plant operator.
