IÖW: No electricity savings through smart meters

Berlin (energate) - The smart meter rollout is supposed to follow the stalemate with a breakthrough. But a desired effect, namely saving electricity, could also turn into the opposite. The Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW), which has studied the operation of smart meters from an environmental perspective, warns against this.
