Lubmin (energate) - The Neptune, the heart of Deutsche Regas' floating LNG terminal in Lubmin, has reached the port of Mukran on the island of Rügen, where the FSRU (floating storage and regasification unit) is being prepared for its deployment, according to an announcement by Regas. "With the Neptune, all the necessary components are now in the region to technically complete the LNG terminal shortly," said Stephan Knabe, chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Regas GmbH. Commissioning will take place once all the
necessary permits have been obtained.
In order for the Neptune to be able to call at its port of destination, its draught must first be reduced. This is currently 9.6 metres. Since only about 5.5 metres are possible in the port of Lubmin, the ship will be lightened to 5.22 metres. In addition, an adapter for the shore-side pipe connection will be installed. Regas chartered the ship from Total Energies (
energate reported). /tc
