EU energy ministers agree on emergency measures

Brussels (energate) - The 27 EU energy ministers have principally accepted the emergency measures presented by the EU Commission. These are a binding reduction in electricity demand, a revenue cap for inframarginal electricity producers and an excess profit levy for fossil energy companies. The member states were only given more flexibility in applying the EU regulation.
