Gas market area: control energy costs rise sharply

Berlin (energate) - Trading Hub Europe (THE) has spent almost 1.4 billion euros on balancing energy so far in the current gas year. The market area manager gave this figure at a workshop for balancing group managers in Berlin. To put this into perspective: the highest expenditure to date was €570 million in the 2017/18 gas year - at that time for the two market areas Gaspool and NCG.
